Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson announced the death of his beloved french bulldog Hobbs in a post shared on his Instagram account early Tuesday (February 25) morning.

The A-list actor and WWE legend turned board member shared a carousel of videos and photos of himself with Hobbs over the years along with a lengthy caption tributing his late companion.

"RIP 💔 Hobbs," Johnson wrote. "I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family and we’re so grateful he didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night.

"Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same.

"One of my favorite songs felt appropriate here, as I wonder what’s going on his new world, because I know what it’s like in mine.

"Not sure how spirits work but come back and visit every once in a while so we can get in trouble and laugh again."

Hobbs, who was named after Johnson's Fast and the Furious series character, joined the family in 2016 and was featured in the spinoff movie Hobbs & Shaw in 2019, as well as alongside the actor on his GQ cover shoot last November. The Rock recently made his on-screen return to WWE in an angle with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on SmackDown last Friday (February 21).
